“Hundreds of studies have shown that the bioactive compounds in cranberries improve health. For example, the polyphenols in cranberries have been shown to maintain a healthy urinary system and protect against cardiovascular diseases and other chronic illnesses,” says one of the review’s authors, Dr. Jeffrey Blumberg. He is the Director of the Antioxidants Research Laboratory and a professor at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University.
In addition to protecting the urinary system and cardiovascular health, cranberries are believed to help inhibit the development of malignant tumors and protect against certain forms of cancer. Furthermore, the same polyphenols that protect the urinary system from bacteria also remove them from the oral mucosa and teeth.
CRANBERRY SMOOTHIE
all components powerfully strengthen our health,
0.5 liters of cranberries
2 bananas
3-4 cm ginger root
4-5 cm turmeric root
1 tbsp honey
Place all components in a blender/mixer, pour water until covered. Blend until smooth.
The smoothie is drunk in the mornings. Can also be consumed during the day. As a meal or between meals.
