It has the property of detoxifying the body. This is especially beneficial in spring when we aim to cleanse and detoxify the body after winter. They are particularly rich in vitamins, minerals - calcium, potassium, essential oils, and more.
Herbal preparations from garšvos have been used for a long time to treat gout. They are also noted for their properties in treating rheumatism, arthritis, alleviating bladder and intestinal disorders, promoting urination, and reducing blood pressure.
The scientific name of the common sorrel species - podagraria - is linked to the plant's medicinal properties. In the Middle Ages, common sorrel was considered one of the most effective medicinal plants against a disease that was widespread among the nobility, monks, and priests at the time - gout. This condition arises from a disrupted metabolism of uric acid in the body. People who are overweight and consume a lot of purine-rich foods (fatty meats, fish) are most often affected by this disease. In the Middle Ages, the nobility and monks consumed a lot of fatty food. Common sorrel was highly valued as a food and medicinal plant, and many were grown in monastery gardens and orchards.

In modern medicine, preparations from these plants are used to treat rheumatism, arthritis, bladder and intestinal disorders, and nettles lower blood pressure and are used as a diuretic.
Garlic leaves you can harvest from early spring until autumn while they are still green.
Let's prepare green smoothies, add them to salads, use them for dressings, spreads, and soups. You can start freezing and drying them for winter, as medicine and food.
Green smoothies are one of the most nutritious drinks you can prepare every morning.
You can drink it in the morning instead of breakfast, before breakfast, between meals, or you can have a day or several days of detox by drinking green and other nutritious smoothies.
How to prepare green smoothies?
We add a blender-mixer
an apple, an orange, a banana, a handful of greens, we pour water until submerged. We blend until smooth.

1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
1/4 pumpkin seeds
a handful of sorrel
2-3 pcs small tomatoes
1/4 of a red onion
1 a.s warrior
1/4 a.s cayenne
1 a.s balsamic sauce (I use it with molasses, thick)
1/4 tsp salt
Add the ingredients to the blender. Blend until smooth. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. If there is a lot left over, you can freeze it or dry it in a dehydrator like crackers.
