He states that green beans strengthen bones: "They contain a lot of vitamin K, which strengthens bones. For older people, green beans are excellent for osteoporosis prevention. Vitamin K helps maintain proper bone density and promotes healing when bones are broken."

"Green beans protect the heart, lower bad cholesterol levels in the blood, and help manage metabolic syndrome, which significantly increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, and diabetes," the doctor lists.

Moreover, according to A. Unikauskas, the most researched benefit of green beans is their role in treating certain forms of cancer and inhibiting the spread of cancer cells throughout the body. "Regular consumption of green beans reduces the risk of breast, colon, and prostate cancer. The vitamin K in them also reduces the risk of stomach, nasal, and throat cancer," explains the professor.
